- W2319177382 abstract "Abstract FOWL paralysis is a term now commonly used to embrace the varied manifestations believed to be involved in this complex disease. This paper is concerned with eye abnormalities or “iritis” since this manifestation was most prevalent in the stock under observation. The normal iris color of adults is orange to bay for Leghorns, the breed used in this work. Typical of iritis is a gradual depigmentation of the iris beginning at its inner edge and progressing toward the outside. This may result in complete depigmentation of the iris. In other cases, only partial depigmentation may occur. These conditions may be accompanied by derangement in the outside edge of the pupil and a closing of the iris diaphragm. This causes an irregular and contracted appearing pupil. This contraction may continue until the pupil is pinpoint in size or, rarely, completely obscured. In the last case the whole eye appears as an . . ." @default.
