- W2319480773 abstract "An advanced thermaldynamic model was proposed to predict the trajectory of stratosphere balloon during ascending. This new model comprises environment thermal sources such as the radiation of the sun, the earth and the atmosphere, and the heat sink such as the cool space. The basic geometry characteristics of the stratosphere balloon and energy equations of the balloon film and internal gas are introduced. The model also includes the wind, and with the wind shear near the bottom of the stratosphere being carefully inspected, the balloon motion equations are developed. By dividing the wind velocity vector into longitude and latitude directions, the displacement of the balloon in longitude and latitude directions were calculated, thus the 3-D trajectory of the balloon during ascending was predicted, the thermal performance of the balloon are presented as well .With the wind velocity data measured at Beijing, a trajectory prediction of a stratosphere balloon was completed. The trajectory predicted has the same trend compared with the available literatures, results shows that the wind shear may exert a tremendous influence on the ascent of the balloon. This model, which is more comprehensive, is expected to be of great help for the designer and operator of a balloon flight experiment." @default.
