This paper uses an extensive multinational survey of such senior professionals to explore the impact of context, using theories of comparative capitalisms, and the changes that have arisen over time. We find that the role of the department and the profile of the leaders of the department do indeed vary with context and that such roles and profiles change over time. We find that there is no convergence towards any single model of HRM, raising crucial questions about our theories of human resource management" @default.
