In ca. 10% liegen bereits maligne Polypen vor, d.h. es wird nach endoskopischer Abtragung, histologisch ein invasives Carcinom festgestellt. Kann eine komplette Resektion belegt werden und bei Vorliegen histologischer low-risk-Kriterien wird die endoskopische Therapie als ausreichend erachtet.
