- W2321580609 abstract "Physical and chemical properties of raw and modified activated carbon were analyzed to investigate the effects of adsorbate properties on activated carbon adsorption performance. Mercury adsorption was tested by cupric chloride impregnated activated carbon, which used water, acetone, and isopropyl alcohol as solutions. The results indicated that the adsorption capacity of Hg0 in the cupric chloride impregnated activated carbon in isopropyl alcohol was the greatest. Accumulation of Cu on the modified activated carbon surface and other oxygen functional groups was key in affecting the chemisorption of mercury. Two degradation steps were observed in TGA-MS measurements. Decomposition of functional groups containing two oxygen atoms in modified activated carbon took place in the first step, whereas most residual organic groups in activated carbon were primarily decomposed in a second step from 300 to 400 °C, the more organic groups present, the lower the temperature of thermal degradation." @default.
