- W2321818612 abstract "Coals hydrogenolized at high pressure with SnC12 catalyst, oxidized with air at 150°C, or oxidized with 1N HNO3 at boiling point.The quantities of aliphatic CH hydrogen and aromatic CH hydrogen in original coals and products were determined by using the optical densities of the absorption bands at 3.40μ and 3.25μ of infra-red spectra.In the case of hydrogenolysis, aromatic CH hydrogen increased at relatively high reaction temperature (425°C), and aliphatic CH hydrogen increased at relatively low temperature (325°C or 375°C) and for long reaction time.The reactions were discussed with H/C-Hal/C diagram.In the case of oxidation, aliphatic CH hydrogen decreased extremely with oxidation.There was linear relation between H/C and Hal/C for the oxidized coals of different oxidation time.From this relation, when Hal/C value became zero, the value of H/C became 0.5-6, for bituminous coal." @default.
