Schlusselworter: Politische Kultur, Politische Theorie, Comparative Political Theory, Eurozentrismus, Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft ----- Abstract Although political culture research and comparative political theory are located in different subdisciplines of political science (that is Comparative Politics and Political Theory), they feature fundamental commonalities concerning their concepts of culture. Both of these research programs aim – in a theory-driven empirical manner – at analyzing the contextuality of political thought which becomes manifest in culture-specific patterns of interpretation and values. On the other hand, they also feature considerable differences concerning their operationalization of the concept of culture, their methodology and their normative premises. Thus, the question arises to what extent both approaches can benefit from each other. We answer this question systematically and based on a discussion of the state of the art of the respective research programs, considering both the theoreticalconceptual and the empirical level. We show how the juxtaposition of these two approaches enables both a higher level of conceptual precision as well as an empirically informed elaboration of both research programs. ----- Bibliographie: Schubert, Sophia/Zapf, Holger: Komplementare Perspektiven?
