- W2322187818 abstract "Electrical thrusters are being increasingly used in Satellite Propulsion System to cater to various functions. A Stationary Plasma Thruster (SPT) with a capability to throttle the thrust between 10 to 25 mN is selected to serve different functions in communication satellite. SPT is proposed to be used in combination with chemical propulsion system in the initial flights. Depending upon the different requirement of satellite, overall mass constraint and on board power availability, two modes of thruster operation are envisaged in different missions. The first mode uses two numbers of SPT at a fixed thrust level (12 mN) for North South Station Keeping (NSSK) of the satellite. The second mode uses two or more thrusters in entire throttling capability of 25 – 10 mN and exact thrust value is chosen in real time based on power availability from beginning to end of satellite life." @default.
