- W2322496985 abstract "A number of studies on weighting and unweighting formulas for calculating mean skin temperature are reviewed. From the view point of simplicity of experimental technique and calculation in field studies, a four-p int mean based on a system devised by Ramanathan (1964) is noted especially. The present authors concluded from a review of many previous studies concerning mean skin temperasure during muscular works that increases in cutaneous venous tone, increases in heat loss from body surface by the additional wind caused by the movements, and increases in evaporative heat loss accompanied with rises in body core temperature are the principal reasons why the mean skin temperature shows no significant rises during muscular works.A nomogram for calculation of mean skin temperature from the heart rate and oxygen intake under various conditions of air temperature and work intensity is indicated. This nomogram was made to be used for female young adults." @default.
