- W2323718646 abstract "Ninety-three vascular reconstructive surgeries for peripheral arteriosclerotic diseases of infra-abdominal aorta were investigated with a statistic analysis between younger patient group under 60 years old and older one. Analyzed factors included preoperative risk factors, occlusive regions, operative methods and operative results. As for preoperative risk factors, renal and pulmonary functions which can provide a fatal prognosis were significantly well in younger group. On the contrary, cigarette smoking, arteriosclerotic scores and platelet function were significantly poor in younger group. Therefore it was pointed out that the strict instructions in daily life would be needed rather for younger group. Aorto-iliac lesions were more frequently found in younger group, with a significant difference, suggesting a possible correlation with risk factors which might be clarified by further investigations. A significant decrease in the cumulative patency rate was observed in aorto-iliac lesions of younger patients, which might be suggestive of some correlation with advanced arteriosclerotic changes. This fact points out a necessity of special care that normal arterial region should be selected as revasucularization site." @default.
