• W2324246308 abstract "Cloud Computing is emerging as new generation service oriented utility computing model to deliver the resources as services to the end user. The resources that could be delivered are compute, storage and networking. As the data collected from several sources are increasing, the data is moved from private cloud storage setup to and archived to the public cloud storages. Such setups would minimize infrastructure cost setup and also enables data access based on the demands across several devices. To address the bulk storage issues Object based storage technologies are becoming popular, enabling the data access from several devices using high level Application Programming Interfaces. While the data volumes are increased in the private cloud, they are migrated to the public clouds for archival, so as to access the data when it is needed. Hence, this would establishes a hybrid cloud setup-mostly data oriented. The similar features that are applicable in the private cloud setup should be offered, and also the necessary security mechanisms need to be applied for the data to keep it secured, while it is accessed and retrieved. Role Based Access Mechanisms (RBAC) plays a key role in accessing the data and the data security plays a major role while the data is archived and streamed to the end user devices. The data in private cloud is often secure and could be accessed using role based access mechanisms. But, when the data is migrated to the public clouds, the challenges could be maintaining the security and role access mechanisms for the same data, so that user privileges over the data are not disturbed. In this work I propose to bring out the issues, methodologies and frame work to address data security and management in hybrid clouds while the data federation happens, offering the role based access mechanisms bundled with the data encryption mechanisms." @default.
