- W2324581285 abstract "A propulsion system for a high speed aircraft including inlet and nozzle installation and subsystem demand effects is presented. This model is applied to study the multidisciplinary coupling of an air cycle machine thermal management subsystem and the propulsion system. This multidisciplinary propulsion and thermal management system is integrated into a vehicle performance model. The propulsion system for this study is an installed threestream variable cycle engine modeled with the Numerical Propulsion System Simulation software. This multidisciplinary model has been integrated into the Service ORiented Computing EnviRonment to enable parallel execution. The propulsion model includes an expanded selection of variable state parameters to study the impact of air refrigeration cycle integration. The air vehicle level effects caused by the interactions between the propulsion and air cycle thermal management subsystems are captured via the multiparameter performance method. Specific excess power and cruise fuel burn rate impacts are quantified and reported for a parametric range of thermal loading." @default.
