- W2325740094 abstract "Nabis species are common predators of Lygus species in alfalfa and cotton in southern Arizona, being the most abundant in alfalfa near Tucson in 1970 and 1971 where most of this study took place. (They occur throughout the year there in alfalfa as adults, nymphs, and eggs.) Nabids were collected from alfalfa in the Mesa area in 1972. Telford et al. (1962) found that N. alternatus Parshley is the most common species from Tucson east and that N. americoferus Carayon is the most common species at Yuma and in the Salt River Valley. Werner and Butler (1957) also mentioned these 2 species as common in southern Arizona. N. capsiformis Germar is a rare species that is collected only occasionally in most months of the year. The information presented here concerning Wesmaelia pendula Foerster and other parasites of Nabis was obtained during a study of diapause in Nabis species, during which adult nabids were dissected and inspected internally." @default.
