The presented topology combines four three-phase converters by using two three-phase coupled inductances or three-phase interphase transformers (IPTs). By using the three-phase IPTs in the proposed converter configuration, the number of magnetic elements is reduced comparing to other existing topologies that combine four three-phase converters. The output power of the proposed VSC is four times the power rating of each converter. Due to the use of three-phase IPTs the power is naturally balanced between the converters without any control action. Hence, the proposed VSC works as a single three-phase high power converter. In order to validate the good performance of the proposed VSC topology, it has been simulated using the simulation tool Saber and the results have been validated experimentally in a test bench of 80 kVA." @default.
