To date most IP interpretation technique uses only the chargeability property. In principally, IP can give more valuable information about subsurface structure. It provides the improved lithological characterization, since surface polarization effects are separated from electrolytic and surface conduction effects. In this study, we develop IP modeling and inversion algorithm using complex resistivity and expand it to the multi-frequency data. Inverting multi-frequency data set with appropriate object function, it enhances the noise characteristics of whole data set and enables more accurate estimation of SIP (Spectral IP) parameters. For the estimation of SIP parameter, we choose Cole-Cole model for spectral IP responses and use a ZXSSQ from IMSL package to extract SIP parameters from inverted complex resistivity. These values are calculated from the multi-frequency IP data through minimizing the estimated and inverted complex resistivity. Using this algorithm, we could calculate the Cole-Cole parameter with reasonable accuracy.
