• W2326021434 abstract "Introduction: The overall evolution of living donor (LD) transplant in Spain started with the first adult liver LD transplant performed in 2000 in Hospital Clinic of Barcelona (HCB). It has been considered to evaluate the living donor process within HCB and moreover. Several initiatives were performed to assess/follow-up the LD's satisfaction with the donation process.It started with a local initiative within the HCB, which was followed by European projects including here EULID and ELIPSY, and the most recent one a Spanish level project. Purpose: Analyzing the time evolution of the tools used to assess the kidney living donor's satisfaction in the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona since 2000 until today. Methods: First step: 2000-2007; locally in the HCB, was done a questionnaire and was sent by mail to the LD 6 month after the donation process. Second step: European Living Donation and Public Health -EULID project, 2007-2009. During the elaboration of the project was designed a new version of the questionnaire based on the first version taking profits from the pro and cons and improving in terms of limitation that were encountered. It contains 54 multiple-choice questions based on the Likert scale. It is available in nine European languages and it is evaluated using the Delphi methodology. The application of the questionnaire was done through a face-face meeting or phone interview with the LD one year after the donation process. Third step: 2009-continuing in nowadays. It is a combination of the previous step. The EULID questionnaire was implemented in a routine and it is used for all LD within HCB. First we establish a phone contact with the donors and give them the opportunity to chose the most suitable form to fulfil the questionnaire (by post mail, phone or face- face interview) starting from 12 months after donation process. Results: During the period 2007 -2010 in HCB have been 21 LDs; 15 of them have done the Satisfaction Survey, 4 were not localizable, and 2 are still under questionnaire delivering process. Some of the results for the most important moments of the donation process are as below: Information received:93% of donors considered to be clearly explained about the tests and medical studies they were about to undergo in order to be a donor. Process impact: 80% of donors did not have any change in their daily activities (hobby or works) Quality of life: 93% of donors feel to be as healthy as anybody else. Decision making:100% of donors will undergo the donation process again. Conclusion: To evaluate the quality and safety of a living donor programme it is of paramount importance to include the evaluation of the LD satisfaction with the process, and the impact that to donate had had in his/her life, due to the fact that LD risks is the weak point of this option to supply organs for transplantation." @default.
