- W2326525059 abstract "We present a description of photon-plasmon interactions in metal nanoparticles based on the second quantization of electromagnetic fields and collective electron excitations. The quantum optical properties of nanostructured systems sustaining resonant charge oscillations will be derived by applying perturbation theory. The linear optical properties can be completely derived from the plasmon-photon coupling coefficients that apply to the particular particle material, environment, and geometry. Nonlinear electromagnetic phenomena such as second harmonic generation need instead to be described by explicitly accounting for the nonlinear corrections of the plasmon-photon interaction Hamiltonian." @default.
