The foundations close to the survey line can be imaged to the 2D resistivity tomogram because of the three-dimensional effect. In general, the 2D ERT can detect the presence of a bridge foundation but may not be able to resolve its precise shape and depth. This study was aimed to numerically investigate the detection of bridge foundation using 2D ERT method under various simplified conditions, considering potential influence factors including the offset from survey line, electrode array, and resistivity contrast. The regularity is inducted from the parametric studies as to how to determine the depth of unknown bridge foundation using 2D ERT.
