- W2328616776 abstract "Fundamental and systematic studies were carried out to make clear the solution conditions where a marked effect of combined collectors on collection occurs in the non-sulfide flotation. Four kinds of collectors such as dodecylamine chloride (DAC), pottassium amyl xanthate (KAX), sodium oleate (NaO1), and sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) were selected. In a series of flotation system where DAC is combined with one of the other three collectors, the floatability of scheelite was determined in terms of the collector concentration and the pH of solution by means of the captive bubble method. As a consequence, each combination gave a marked collection of the mineral even in the conditions where there is no collection at all by using a single collector alone. The combination of DAC-KAX resulted in the most remarkable collecting action among all the possible combinations. The DAC-SDBS combination was found to be most inferior in the cooperative effect. A remarkable joint effect of combined collectors is considered to be associated with the presence of collector neutral molecules in solution. Furthermore, surface-chemical study of the cooperative action of combined collectors in flotation was also performed by means of surface tension measurements. It was found that the scheelite floatability was closely related to the surface tension change of solutions." @default.
