- W2328898607 abstract "Purpose: The postoperative subjective outcome following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) by using the patient-reported outcome measures have become a well-recognised part of outcome assessment in rehabilitation. The hypothesis of this study was that there would have an association of forgotten joint score and other patient-reported outcome measures in patients with TKA. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between forgotten joint score and functional outcomes following TKA. Methods: We recruited 75 patients after unilateral, primary TKA and performed a survey including the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score-Physical Score (KOOS-PS), Short Form-12 (SF-12), Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale (TKS) and the Forgotten Joint Score-12 (FJS-12). Association between the different questionnaires was determined calculating Pearson correlation coefficients. Multiple linear regression model was used to investigate the impact of functional outcomes for the FJS-12. Results: WOMAC-Pain, stiffness and function subscores showed negatively strong correlations to the FJS-12 score (r = −0.76; r = −0.61; r = −0.76). The FJS-12 demonstrated modest correlation with SF-12 physical and mental summary scores (r = 0.58; r = 0.53). KOOS-PS and TKS were also negatively correlated with the FJS-12 (r = −0.50; r = −0.66) (p = 0.000). The scales explained 72.2% of variance for the FJS-12. Conclusions: There is a strong relationship between forgotten joint score and patient-reported functional outcomes. Our data indicate a stronger association between the FJS-12 and functional outcomes than that between the FJS-12 and quality of life outcomes. Joint awareness is a substantial overlap for patient-reported symptoms following TKA however pain, stiffness, function appear to be strongly associate with joint awareness in points of postoperative patient’s reported outcomes." @default.
