- W2330402602 abstract "Yttria stabilized hafnia-zirconia (YSHZ) coatings have been fabricated by magnetron sputtering by varying the composition of hafnia and zirconia. The grown YSHZ coatings have been characterized to evaluate their microstructure and thermal stability. Structural characterization performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) indicates the stabilization of cubic phase in the YSHZ coatings. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis indicates the columnar growth of the coatings. The SEM results demonstrate that the surface morphology of the YSHZ coatings is characterized by densely oriented triangular grains. The mechanical properties investigated using diamond tip nanoindenter demonstrates the hard nature of YSHZ coatings. The high temperature XRD results indicate the coatings’ thermal stability up to 1300 o C. The composition analysis by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) before and after thermal exposure indicates that the chemical stability of the coating coatings is retained at 1300 o C." @default.
