- W2330654832 abstract "To evaluate the impact of body mass index on the short and long-term outcomes of endometrial cancer patients who underwent robotic-assisted staging procedures, and to analyze disease recurrence and overall survival in the same patient population. This is a retrospective cohort study of 364 consecutive patients who underwent robotic-assisted hysterectomy and staging for endometrial cancer from March 2007 to October 2012. Staging procedures were performed at two teaching hospitals by two gynecologic oncologists and assisted by fellows and residents. 364 consecutive patients who underwent robotic-assisted hysterectomy and staging for endometrial cancer were included in the study. Robotic-assisted hysterectomy and staging was the main intervention. Adjuvant treatments in the form of vaginal brachytherapy, external beam radiation or chemotherapy were given depending on the stage and histology. Mean age and BMI of 364 patients were 63.6 ± 10 years and 34.8 ± 10.1 kg/m2.Histology included 80.8% endometrioid and 19.2% high-risk histologies. Mean pelvic and aortic lymph node counts were 15.9 and 3.6, respectively. Lymph node metastases were identified in 31 (8.5%) of cases. Adjuvant therapies were given for 289 (79.4%) of patients: 51.4% radiation, 14.8% chemotherapy and 13.2% chemotherapy+radiation. Patients were followed for a median of 54 ± 13 months. Risk of recurrence was 5.5% for all histology and 3 (0.008%) patients died of disease. Disease-free survival was 19.2 ± 15.3 months and overall survival was 19.8 ± 15.9 months for all histology. Robotic-assisted hysterectomy and staging can be considered for patients of all body mass indices. Patients with endometrial cancer undergoing robotic staging during our five years of robotic experience had low risk for recurrence and excellent disease-specific survival at a median follow-up of 54 months." @default.
