- W2331439915 abstract "Two-dimensional (2D) polymers are very attractive because they are promising for ideal molecular-sieving membranes (MSM) for separating small gas molecules completely such as H2, O2, N2, and CO2 which have not been realized. However, 2D polymers have a lot of questions and problems which should be answered and solved. For example, “Are they not present in the world?”, “Why are they not popular in textbooks?”, “How are they synthesized?”, and “What are 2D polymers?”. In this review, we are trying to answer and solve them. First, in chapter 1, 2D polymers, MSMs, and their relationship are introduced. In chapter 2, we try to define and classify 2D polymers in view of their first-order and high-order structures. Chapter 3 describes a few reports on real 2D polymers first and then many reports on their related polymers such as covalent organic frameworks (COF), carbonized molecular-sieving (CMS) membranes, polymers of intrinsic porosity (PIM), and finally our recent results on synthesis of 2D polymers and their application to separation membranes. In chapter 4, the future of 2D polymers is discussed." @default.
