Aims: Discussion: The burns present in a similar percentage between girls and boys, the etiology and the age group more frequent was scalding in lactating children’s. Objetive: Describe the epidemiology of the pediatric burn patient in the Unidad Pediátrica de Quemados during the period comprehend between the year 2009 to 2013. Methods: Ambispectivo, longitudinal, descriptive and observational studies, the changeable was: Gender, Age, Burning Type, Burning Percentage and Injury Mechanism. For data analysis it was used descriptive statistic, frequency and measures of central tendency. Results: Of 1327 pediatric burn patients 52.6% (698) were mans and 47.4% (629) women’s, the maximum age range of lactating children’s was 768 (57.9%) and the minimum of newborns with 2 (0.15%). The mechanism of injury more frequent was for scalding 856 (64.5%) the less frequent chemical 2(0.15%). The percentage of corporal burn surface more frequent was between 5–15%, being more frequent in the total of burn children’s of second grade 1048 (79.01%). The mortality was 2.19%. Conclusion: Burns are frequent in the pediatric age; in spite the percentage of mortality wasn’t high. The psychological, physical and familiar consequences appear in more than 90% of the patients." @default.
