- W2334299432 abstract "1)When black epithelium of the skin of the guinea pig is transplanted on wounds of unpigmented skin of the same animal (autoplastic transplantation) the transplanted tissue retains its vitality and finally invades the host epithelium.2)Homoeoplastic transplants act differently. In the majority of cases they are cast off. If they take, the transplanted black epithelium does not invade the neighboring white epithelium, but instead becomes gradually lighter in color. After homoeoplastic transplantation there is some interference with the appearance of the typical phases of pigmentation which can be observed during the regeneration and after autoplastic transplantation of pigmented skin. The transplanted skin is evidently unable to regain its full power of pigment production on the new soil.3)There is an infiltration of the transplanted epithelium with round cells which may lead to a partial separation and destruction of some of the transplanted cells." @default.
