RTM has been extended from isotropic media to transversely isotropic (TI) media including vertical TI (VTI) and tilted TI (TTI) media. Explicit finite difference (FD) scheme and pseudo‐acoustic wave approximation for TI media by simply setting shear wave velocity as zero caused some practical issues in stability, memory requirement, efficiency and artifacts, etc. These issues are discussed in this paper and comparison of isotropic, VTI and TTI RTM on BP anisotropic benchmark dataset is demonstrated.Permalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/1.3513511FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited bySimulating propagation of separated wave modes in general anisotropic media, Part I: qP-wave propagatorsJiubing Cheng and Wei Kang21 November 2013 | GEOPHYSICS, Vol. 79, No. 1Study on Anisotropy of Shale in Shale Gas Exploration Using Seismic Forward Modeling11 June 2013 | Chinese Journal of Geophysics, Vol. 56, No. 2Experiences with OpenMP, PGI, HMPP and OpenACC Directives on ISO/TTI KernelsPure mode modeling and reverse-time migration of P-wave in HTI and orthorhombic mediaTengfei Wang, Jiubing Cheng, and Wei Kang25 October 2012The issues of prestack reverse time migration and solutions with Graphic Processing Unit implementation12 January 2012 | Geophysical Prospecting, Vol. 60, No. 5 SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2010ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2010 Pages: 4453 publication data© 2010 Copyright © 2010 Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 21 Oct 2010 CITATION INFORMATION Shengwen Jin, Fan Jiang, and Yiqing Ren, (2010), Comparison of isotropic, VTI and TTI reverse time migration: an experiment on BP anisotropic benchmark dataset, SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 3198-3203. https://doi.org/10.1190/1.3513511 Plain-Language Summary PDF DownloadLoading ..." @default.
