Palabras claveDiscurso Narrativo Interaccion VerbalABSTRACTNARRATIVES PRODUCED BY LITTLE CHILDREN FROM URBAN AND MARGINAL SUBURBS IN THE CONTEXT OF THEIR HOMES The study examined the narratives produced by 4 year old children from urban and marginal suburbs of Buenos Aires in order to identify the strategies used by adults and older children during their interactions with the little ones. The data analyzed was gathered through observations, registered anecdotically and audiotaped, of verbal and non verbal interactions that take place in the situations children participate in their homes and community during 12 hours distributed in 3 or 4 days. Qualitative analysis carried out following the constant comparative method and the interactional sociolinguistic method showed that children participate in recurrent interaction structures with adults, brothers and peers. In the course of these situations, characterized by the synchronism and the shared sense of the theme, children construct narratives in a collaborative way. It was observed that 4 year old children put into practice several resources and show a discourse competence in process of development, either to initiate narratives or to contribute to the narratives produced by other people. Likewise, during interaction situations, a cognitive adjustment between the children and their interlocutors was observed.Key wordsNarrative Discourse Verbal Interaction" @default.
