- W2338165719 abstract "PAD is found in patients undergoing ERCP. Studies showed association with CBD stones (CBDS). The papilla inside is considered limiting factor to cannulation. Aim: Evaluate the prevalence, clinical, adverse events (AE), radiographic findings and compare to patients without PAD. This is a retrospective study (421). Analyzed gender, age, diagnosis, indications, success rate and AE. We exclude those where it was not possible to access the duodenal papilla. Remaining 412, divided into 2 groups: presence (GI = 59) and the absence (GII = 353). GI was divided: intradiverticular (ID) and peridiverticular (PD). There was no statistical difference in relation to sex (p = 0.853), association with CBDS (p = 0.945), catheterization success (89.8% vs 91.8%, p = 0.618), access to the duodenal papilla in difficult cases for precut (7.1% vs 9.5%, p = 0.569) and AE rate (1.7% vs 2%, p > 0.999). There were differences of age >75 years (p = 0.005) and dilated CBD (>0.8 cm, p < 0.001), both in the GI. Patient group compared to the PD and ID, they presented, less association with CBDS (p = 0.004) and a higher incidence of jaundice (p = 0.003). This study shows that the presence of DPA is higher in elderly patients. Presence does not impose catheterization problems or increased AE." @default.
