Once caught in traffic, vehicles cannot come back to change the route. Air is getting polluted. Inability to reach the destination on time. At present there is no such application which can tell the traffic information of a particular road, by using the current speed of the vehicles in a particular road. So this project is about creating an application which tells the traffic information of any required road. It works on the logic that, if the vehicles are moving very slowly, then there is a heavy traffic. It will also tell the user the speed of the vehicles in a particular road. This application will automatically broadcast the speed of the vehicle of the user to the cloud, the cloud will then send the data to the application, and the application will then compute the average speed of the vehicles in a particular road (by using clustering) and then notify the users the traffic information Keyword — Android Application, Traffic Information, Speed, GPS, Average Speed. I. INTRODUCTION Traffic congestion occurs when a large number of vehicles close together are unable to move or move very slowly . It is a condition on road networks that occurs as use increases, and is characterized by slower speeds, longer trip times, and increased vehicular queuing. Nowadays it is obvious that the congestion in nearly all over the world is on the increase. One of the main reasons which causes the traffic jam is that the majority of people prefer using their own cars. As demand approaches the capacity of a road (or of the intersections along the road), extreme traffic congestion sets in. When vehicles are fully stopped for periods of time, this is colloquially known as a traffic jam or traffic snarl-up. Traffic congestion can lead to drivers becoming frustrated. Traffic on roads may consist of pedestrians, ridden or herded animals, streetcars, Buses and other conveyances, while using the public way for purposes of travel. Traffic laws are the laws which govern traffic and regulate vehicles. Organized traffic generally has well-established priorities, lanes, and right-of-way and traffic control at intersections. Traffic is formally organized in many jurisdictions, with marked lanes, junctions, intersections, interchanges, traffic signals, or signs. Traffic is often classified by type: heavy motor vehicle (e.g., car, truck); other vehicle (e.g., moped, bicycle); and pedestrian. Different classes may share speed limits and easement, or may be segregated. Events which disrupt the flow and may cause traffic to degenerate into a disorganized mess include: road construction, collisions and debris in the roadway.
