Greatest width behind the mid-point, about 1/3 of its shell length. Left valve overlapping the right and vice versa posteriorly.Triangular in kteral view. Anterior end rotund, posterior end narrowly rounded. Dorsal margin arched in front of the. middle poin and sloped straight to the posterior end. The greatest height at the anterior 1/3, more than one-half of the body length. Ventral margin almost straight but slightly concave. Valve surface punctulated and covered with setae,Right valve triangular in lateral view. Anterior end broadly rounded. Dorsum steeply sloping posteriorly behind the greatest height. Posterior end narrowly rounded, with serration. Ventral margin straight and slightly concave. Left valve similar to right one in shape, but greater in height, posterior end broader and without serration.Natatory setae of the fst antenna well developed. Those of the 2nd one teaching tips of the terminal claws; sensory club of the proximo-posterior margin of the 1st endopodite three-segmented, the terminal segment being longer than combined length of the other two segments. Two smooth spines in maxilla masticatory process. First leg slender, long, with terminal claw longer than the combined length of the 2nd and the 3rd endopodite segments. Furcal rami symmetrical; terminal daw slightly longer than the subterminal one; terminal seta short, less than half the length of terminal claw, the proximal posterior seta more than half the length of the distal posterior seta, posterior margin of the ramus with series of fine bristles.Male: length 3.00-3.25mm, height 1.75-1.95mm, width 1.40-1.60mm.Valve morphology similar to that of the female. Prehensile palps of the maxillule asymmetrical as shown in figures 11 and 12. Hemipenis elongate pear-shaped, middle and inner lobes digitiform, inner lobe slender and curved. The genus Hungarocypris heretofore comprises only 3 species, namely Hungarocypris gawemuller Vavra, 1906, H. madaraszi (Orley) 1886, and H. asymmetricus Viator et Fernando, 1981. This new species resembles H. asymmetricus in general appearance, but differs in the right Valve being serrated at its posterior end.Holotype , allotype , paratypes 10 11, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, 22 March 1981." @default.
