- W2348054398 abstract "Nanocryestalline cadmium oxide (CdO) was successfully synthesized by heating the precursor, which was obtained by solid-state reaction of CdCl_2 and Na_2CO_3 with NaCl as a diluent. Differential thermal analysis (DTA) was employed to investigate the crystallization kinetics of CdO nanoparticles. Variation of the CdO nanoparticle size with calcination temperature was investigated using X-ray diffractometry (XRD). The mechanism for the nanocrystallite growth was primarily discussed. The results indicate that the synthesized CdO possesses a nanocrystalline structure with crystal size of 30～44nm, varying with the calcination temperature. The apparent activation energies of CdO nanocrystallite formation after calcination of the precursor were analyzed using Kissinger and Ozawa methods, the calculated values were 164.7kJ/mol and 175.6kJ/mol, respectively. The activation energy for the nanocrystallite growth was calculated to be 12.2 kJ/mol according to kinetics theory of nanocrystallite growth, indicating that CdO nanocrystallite grows primarily by means of an interfacial reaction during the calcination." @default.
