- W2348658909 abstract "This study is basic and its perpose is to solve problems in pratical engineerings.The study is carried out according to broken rock zone in surrounding rock.Based on fracture mechnics,micro failure mechanism and macro failure process of rock masses with intermittent joints and their effects on broken rock zone and bulking deformation are analized in this study by using methods of physical model test and numerical simulation,which is started from the estimation of underground engineering stability.Properties of broken rock zone in intermittent jointed rock mass and relationship of broken rock zone and underground engineering stability are discussed with above methods.And then broken rock zone and the convergence percent of surrounding rock are adopted as a determination of stability.It can provide a reliable basis for design,construction and production of mining engineering.Results of this study are presented as follows:1) The thickness of broken rock zone is compositive,which is suggested as an index to estimate the stability of surrounding rock.2) In the test,the digital photogrammetry for deformation measurement is applied to measure rock displacement.It has advantage for the observation and measurement of displacement development.The method accords with the development trend of noncontact displacement measurement.3) Failure mechanism of rock mass with intermittent joint is discovered.Under concentrated stresses,tension failure will occur in the rock bridge of the end of joint,which leads to connect new crack of rock bridge with nearby primary joint.Finally,slid plane of step shape forms and rock mass strength is lost.4) When the expanding length of new crack in joint ends reachs or excess that from formula l=hsinβ,run-through failure will occurs in rock masses.5) In jointed rock masses,broken rock zone is caused by the run-through of new cracks and joints.The boundary of run-through failure of intermittent joints is defined as that of failure zone in surrounding rock.6) It is found that when frequency of joints is great,broken rock zone of surrounding rock can span nearby joints and when frequency of joints is small,joint can obstruct broken rock zone.7) The increase of convergence speed at first time indicates that broken rock zone appears in surrounding rock.Every time the abrupt increase of convergence speed indicates the occurrence of intense failure.8) When the angle of joint ranges from 30°-75°,the effect of joint angle on rock mass strength is great.Especially,when the joint angle is 60°,rock mass strength and the stability are the lowest.9) When the convergence percent of roadway reaches or excesses 2.5%,broken rock zone occurs.When the convergence percent reaches or excesses 5%,the roof of roadway will fall down.The roadway is unstable and its safe cannot be ensured.If the convergence percent reaches or excess 22.8%,the roadway will be destroyed completely and lose the possibility of artificial stability." @default.
