- W2348772284 abstract "ObjectiveTo study the clinical effects and possible immunological mechanism of high-dose intravenous immunoglobulin(HIVIG) in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).MethodsThe subjects were divided into three groups: HIVIG treatment group(n=30),routine treatment group(n=25) and control group(n=20).The recovery time of clinical features of HIE,the incidences of multiple-organ dysfunction,the levels of serum creatine phosphokinase BB(CK-BB),neonatal behavioral neurological assessment(NBNA) and the scores of mental development index(MDI) and motor development index(MDI) of three-and six-monthold were compared between the two treatment groups.Meanwhile,the expression rates of IL-2 receptor(IL-2R) on the peripheral blood mononucleocytes(PBMC) and the levels of interleukin(IL)-6,IL-8 and IL-10 in the plasma and in the supernatant of PBMC were measured before and after the treatment.ResultsCompared with the routine treatment group,the recovery time of clinical features of HIE were much shorter in HIVIG treatment group(t=2.057,P0.05),the levels of serum CK-BB were lower after HIVIG treatment(t=5.574-8.573,P0.05),and the scores of NBNA,MDI and PDI were significantly higher in HIVIG treatment group.But there was no significant difference of the incidences of multiple-organ dysfunction between the two treatment groups.Both levels of IL-6,IL-8 and IL-10 of plasma and supernatant of PBMC after HIVIG treatment on the third day(D3)were lower than those on the first day(D1),especially levels of IL-6 and IL-8(z=3.362-3.910,P0.01).But there was no significant difference in routine treatment group(z=0.314-1.371,P0.05).Levels of IL-6 and IL-8 in the plasma after HIVIG therapy on D5-7 were similar to those of the control group(z=1.707-1.779,P0.05),but levels of IL-10 were still markedly higher than those of the control group.Levels of IL-6 and IL-8 in the plasma in IVIG treatment group were similar.Levels of IL-6,IL8 and IL-10 in the plasma in routine treatment group on D5-7 were all higher than those of the control group(z=3.512-4.805,P0.01).ConclusionHIVIG therapy might relieve immunopathologic damages,relieve hypoxia brain damages,shorten the course of HIE and improve short-term prognosis of HIE" @default.
