- W2348808124 abstract "One of key problems of the upsizing of membrane LNG carriers is serious sloshing impact pressures in tanks and the resulting complicated and dangerous dynamic structural response,as yet model test is the most important method for studying this kind of problem.A fine three dimensional test model is designed according to No.2 tank of a large LNG carrier with large size and violent movement and the characteristic of sloshing impact pressures is studied through series sloshing test under excitation of regular and irregular movement with different filling levels.Based on calculation results of the structural characteristic of membrane LNG containment systems,copper panels with four edges simply supported are designed to analyze the elastic effect of containment systems.Otherwise,wave movement is also measured using wave height meter.Test results show that the amplitude of sloshing impact pressure has obvious randomness under excitation of regular or irregular movement and sloshing impact pressure occurred at coupling movement may be more serious than that at single movement.Measuring results of sloshing impact pressure,strain and wave movement can be used to provide a basis for verifying sloshing numerical method and structural design of containment systems." @default.
