• W2348872153 abstract "Objective To understand the situation of epithelial- mesenchymal transitions(EMT) in non- small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and investigate the pathological and clinical significance of it. Methods The immunohistochemistry was used to detect protein expressions of E- cadherin and vimentin in 143 samples of NSCLC and 44 samples of bronchus epithelial cells surrounding tumor. The SPSS17. 0 statistic software was used to analyze the correlation between the protein expressions and the clinic- pathological agents of the patients with NSCLC. Results The positive expression rate of E- cadherin protein in the tumor cells of NSCLC was statistically lower than that in bronchus epithelial cells surrounding tumor(52. 4% vs. 70. 5%,P 0. 05),and there was significant correlation between tumor cells and their corresponding bronchus epithelial cells surrounding tumor(r = 0. 539,P 0. 05). Furthermore,the rate in the poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma(34. 4%) was statistically lower than that in the well- moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma(61. 7%)(P 0. 05),and the rate in the male patients(43. 2%) was statistically lower than that in the female(64. 5%)(P 0. 05). However,the expression was not significantly related to patients' age,smoking status,tumor histological type and lymph node metastasis(P 0. 05).
