- W2349988891 abstract "As is known,zeolite can be introduced into sewage treatment for its features of large specific surface area and selective adsorption. And,consequently,it has become an emphatic tendency for fluoride to be used as an alternative low-cost potential absorbent for removing impurities from the sewage.This paper is inclined to present our study results on how to use natural zeolite to improve the adsorbent strength in the solution prepared with modified zeolite.To achieve our research purpose,we have experimented with the modification treatment of natural zeolite-clinoptilolite by adding hydrochloric acid and ferric chloride solution as an catalytic agent at high temperatures. In our experiment we have also tested how to remove fluoride from water through static adsorption in a simulated fluorine-laden water. At the same time,we have also made a detailed discussion on the influence of particle size,the modified zeolite dosage,the time length of the adsorption,pH value and the initial solution concentration on the fluoride-removing efficiency.The results of orthogonal experiment indicate that the fluoride-removing efficiency proves to be as high as about 83%on the condition that the particle size of zeolite is 0.25 -0.38 mm,the modified zeolite dosage is 1.0 g,in the neutral condition the adsorption time length is 2 h.The study also indicates that,Langmuir equation can favorably associate fluorine ion adsorption equilibrium with the modified zeolite version,and in turn make the adsorption model into a Langmuir one.Furthermore,the uptake equilibrium can best be described by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.What is more important,we have thoroughly and systemically investigated the modification methods of zeolite-clinoptilolite from Baiyin in this paper while referring to some up-to-date literatures on zeolite modifications.Referring to such literatures,we have determined the optimum modifying conditions,the affecting factors and the modified zeolite adsorption exchange mechanism along with large sums of fluoride-containing sewage treating process parameters so as to provide a theoretical basis in this way." @default.
