- W2350102585 abstract "Focusing on Datang Kaiyuanli(Regulations on Presenting Gifts in the Kaiyuan Period of Tang Dynasty),we have studied cezengshi(gift messenger) of Tang Dynasty and found as to different objects different messengers would be sent to offer gifts.Usually there were two gift messengers,with one of them as cezengzhushi.The number of cezengfushi wasn't fixed.All of them should have qualified official ranks.Although the rank of gift messengers was related to the rank of the deceased person,to some extent,but not correspondently and rather flexibly.People with certain social status should participate in presenting princes,honorific titles and crown princes,but the ranks of gift messengers were not obviously required.In the first periods of Tang Dynasty,taiweis would usually take part in gift presenting,but after the Emperor of Su,it was real prime ministers who completed the task.In addition,diaoyanshi and cezengshi were two different messengers,so presenting gifts to the family of the deceased would be completed by the former,not the latter." @default.
