- W2350293257 abstract "Objective To investigate the effect of different nutrients on gut permeability,bacterial/endotoxin translocation, and system inflammation reaction. Methods Forty SD rats were randomly divided into ordinary food(OF)group, ordinary enteral nutrition(EN)group, glutamine enteral nutrition(Gln)group,ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid nutrition(IEEN)group, and sham group. The superior mesenteric artery was isolated at its origin and clamped for 60 minutes on the seventh day after gastrostomy. The intestinal permeability, morphology, bacterial culture, and cytokines in serum were analyzed. Results The intestinal permeability was severely damaged and the body weight significantly decreased in OF group,EN group, and sham group(P0.05).The endotoxin concentration was significantly different between Gln group and OF group(P0.05).The levels of tumour necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),and interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β)were significantly lower in IEEN group than in EN group. The intestinal mucosa thickness and villus height of small intestine in Gln group and IEEN group were superior to those in OF group and EN group. Conclusions Theaddition of specific nutrients, glutamine, and ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid can reverse bacterial/endotoxin translocation and system inflammation reaction. The intestine may be protected by an enteral nutrient containing glutamine and ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid from injury after ischemia/reperfusion in rats." @default.
