- W2350539342 abstract "Objective:To explore the effects of platelet-rich plasma(PRP) on maxillary distraction osteogenesis in rabbits. Methods: Sixteen healthy young rabbits were randomly assigned into four groups :the one week experimental group(n=4),the one week control group(n=4),the three weeks experimental group(n=4)and the three weeks control group(n=4).Pairs of titanium bone markers were fixed on either side of suture of all animals. The self-restraint devices for distraction osteogenesis were placed on maxilla of 12 young rabbits.Distraction for 1 week was applied to the one week experimental group and the one week control group, and 3 weeks was applied to the three weeks experimental group and the three weeks control group. Both experimental groups were injected with gel-like substance formed by PRP mixed with 10% calcium chloride and thrombin of the ox at 9∶1(v /v) into the suture at the beginning of the lengthening time. The increase in the distance between two titanium bone markers and changes occurring in the tissue were observed in and around the suture after distraction. The data was analized statistically. Results: All animals appeared a progressviely increasing anteroir movement of maxllia. In contrast with the control group, the experimental group had a greater increase in the distance between two titanium bone markers and a higher speed of new bone formation and mineralization, and in the suture there was more vascular territory. In addition, the bone trabecula was thicker and more mature. Conclusion: Platelet-rich plasma could improve osteogenesis and promote maxillary distraction osteogenesis in rabbits." @default.
