- W2350554709 abstract "A new method of modifying asphalt with sulphur is presented and the properties of SEAM modified asphalt mixture are tested. The test results show that,as the agent of SEAM is more than 10 percent,the high temperature stability and fatigue life of sulphur extended asphalt mixture can be obviously improved,the high temperature stability and fatigue life individually increase 171 percent and 187 percent respectively,and the low temperature property is approached to the common asphalt mixture. The mechanism of sulphur modified asphalt is studied with the infrared adsorption spectrum analysis. The infrared adsorption spectrum test results indicates that as the ratio of sulphur to asphalt increases from 20 percent to 30 percent. The sulphur can react the asphalt,and during the curse of reaction,some new chemical compounds with H-、 S-H、RO-SO-OR、RO-SO2-OR、R-SO2-R etc. are produced in asphalt. It is concluded that the mechanism of sulphur improving high temperature properties of asphalt is the bonding force among asphalt molecules and the chemical composition of asphalt are changed by the sulphur." @default.
