- W2350923815 abstract "Objective] To investigate the situation of the iodine nutrition level of the residents in vegetable processing area in Yuyao and to find out the effective intervening measures. [Methods] Survey of iodine content in the salt of pupils' family, the surveillance of the enlargement rate of the thyroid gland in children of 8～10,and the simultaneous sruveillance of the iodine content of urine in pregnant women, newly-married women of child bearing age,lactating women, and infant of 0～2 years and the throid surveillance of throid stimulating hormone (TSH) of newborn baby were done to find out the iodine nutrition situation of the residents. [Results] The absording rate of qualified iodine salt of this special area was 28.78%. In children of 8～10,the enlargement rate of the thyroid gland was 4.28%,the median of the iodine content of urine was 40μg/L,59.33% had value lower than 50μg/L. 23.33% of newborn baby had TSH value higher than 5μU/mL. Simultaneously in other residents in Yuyao, the absorbing rate of qualified iodine salt was 100%,the enlargement rate of the thyroid gland was 5.8%,the median of the iodine content of urine was 172.5μg/L. Only 16.67% had value lower than 50μg/L, 3.33%of newborn baby had TSH value higher than 5μU/mL. [Conclusion] The people live in vegetable processing area are in the shadow of iodine deficiency.The related government department should pay attention to them." @default.
