- W2351207058 abstract "[Objective] To investigate the case rate of type II diabetes in chronic hepatitis C at Yanbian area, and ex- plore the relation of chronic hepatitis C and type II diabetes in Korean and Han people. [Methods] ①Health examination was performed on 367 chronic hepatitis C patients (Korean 218, Han people 149), 352 chronic hepatitis B patients and 681 health people, and we identified whether they had type II diabetes. ② We detected anti-HCV and hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) in 851 type II diabetes and 782 health examinations by ELISA. [Results] ①24.31% of patients with chronic hep- atitis C had type II diabetes in Korean, and 26.85% of the patients were Han people, the differences had no statistically signif- icant (χ2= 0.18, P﹥0.05). 25.34% patients had type II diabetes in chronic hepatitis C in Korean and Han people, however, 9.38% of the patients had type II diabetes in chronic hepatitis B, the differences had statistically significant (χ2= 18.36, P﹤ 0.01). Further comparing with normal controls about the case rate of type II diabetes (9.84%) was also considered statistically significant. Through comparing the rate of type II diabetes between chronic hepatitis B and normal controls, we found that the differences have no statistically significant (χ2= 1.09, P﹥0.05). ②Among 851 type II diabetes patients, 72 patients (8.46%) had anti-HCV positive, and 33 patients (3.88%) had HBsAg. But among 782 healthy examinations, 23 patients (2.94%) hd anti-HCV positive, and 78 patients (9.97%) had HBsAg. The differences had statistically significant (P﹤0.01). [Conclu- sion] ① Chronic hepatitis C patients were prone to have type II diabetes, and the difference have no significant between Kore- an and Han people. ② The infection rate of hepatitis C virus in type II diabetes is higher than that of normal population, which indicated that the infection of hepatitis C virus and appearance of diabetes are correlative to some extent." @default.
