- W2351802489 abstract "Objective To demonstrate the changes in the activity of hydrogen dioxide(H2O2),catalase(CAT),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and xanthinoxidase(XOD) in the liver tissue of acute bromoxynil-poisoning mice and the role of sodiumdimercaptopropanesulfonate(Na-DMPS).Methods 48 ICR mice were randomized to acute bromoxynil-poisoning group,Na-DMPS protection group,Na-DMPS treatment group,or dimercaptosuccinate(DMSA) protection group.The mortalities within 1 week in all groups were statistically analyzed.Another 32 ICR mice were randomly assigned to acute bromoxynil-poisoning group,Na-DMPS protection group,Na-DMPS control group,or normal control group.The value of H2O2 and the activity of CAT,SOD,and XOD in the liver and brain tissues were determined 12 hours after poisoning.Results The mortality was 100% in acute bromoxynil-poisoning group and 42% in Na-DMPS protection group,presenting a significant difference(P 0.05).The XOD activity was(9.34 ± 0.86) U/mg prot in the normal control group,(11.78 ± 1.09)U/mg prot in acute bromoxynil-poisoning group,and(9.33 ± 0.20) U/mg prot in Na-DMPS protection group,the CAT activity was(0.32 ± 0.03) U/mg prot,(0.38 ± 0.05) U/mg prot,and(0.31 ± 0.02) U/mg prot,and the value of H2O2 was(1.37 ± 0.50) mmol/mg prot,(2.35 ± 1.09) mmol/mg prot,and(1.42 ± 0.20) mmol/mgprot,respectively.The activity of XOD and CAT and the value of H2O2 were markedly higher in acute bromoxynil-poisoning group than in the normal control group and Na-DMPS protection group(P 0.05).Conclusion Acute bromoxynil-poisoning can result in an elevation in oxidation-antioxidase activity.Na-DMPS may play a protective role by reducing the activity of oxidation-antioxidase." @default.
