- W2352690703 abstract "The present paper is concerned about the authors' investi- gation over the effects of Cd at different concentrations on the growth of Seleng wormwood and its accumulated characteristic features by way of a pot cultivation to simulated Cd-contaminated sewage irriga- tion. The concentrations of the sewage prepared by CdCl_2 ·2.5H_2O (AR)were 0.00 mg/L,0.12 mg/L,0.40 mg/L,2.00 mg/L, 4.00 mg/L,6.00 mg/L,8.00 mg/L,10.00 mg/L,12.00 mg/L, 14.00 mg/L and 16.00 mg/L,respectively.The kind of sewage,as a typical case for land irrigation in growing Seleng wormwood during its growing stage. When test was done as a result of Seleng wormwood planting, the concentrations of Cd accumulation in the soil were found to be 0.0 mg/kg,0.3 mg/kg,1.0 mg/kg,5.0 mg/kg,10.0 mg/kg,20.0 mg/kg,25.0 mg/kg,30.0 mg/kg,35.0 mg/kg and 40.0 mg/kg,and in turn labeled as CK,C1,C2,C3,C4,C5, C6,C7,C8,C9 and C10.The results of our experiments show that the Seleng wormwood planted in this way is highly resistant to Cd, both in terms of the dry weight and in terms of the root activity in all of the treatments with higher content than CK,and increased Cd con- tent in the soil.In addition,it was found that the content of ehloro- phyll-a and that of chlorophyll-b tend to be similar, that it would in- crease when being treated at lower content of Cd (0.3-20.0 mg/kg) whereas reduce when being treated at higher content of Cd ( 20.0 mg/kg).Meanwhile,the root, stem and the leaf of Seleng worm- wood had strong accumulated reaction to Cd,which can be ordered as follows:root stem leaf, that is to say,the content of Cd in the root, stem and leaf tend to be higher when the Cd content in the soil rose.Their correlation can be found significant at the level of 0.01, with the coefficients of correlation (r)being 0.905,0.925,0.939 and 0.957,respectively.Both the bioaccumulation ability of Cd from soil and the migration ability of Cd in Seleng wormwood proves to be stronger when treated at a lower content of Cd (≤5.0 mg/kg),but weaker when treated at a higher content of Cd (≥ 10.0 mg/kg). However, the bioaccumulation coefficient of the aerial part was found over 1 when treated at lower content of Cd (0.3-5.0 mg/kg), which is potentially dangerously harmful, because Seleng wormwood is as a rule cultivated as a kind of vegetable." @default.
