- W2353631120 abstract "Purpose:To study the efficiency of 153 Sm EDTMP radiotherapy for osseous metastases in prostate cancer.Methods:36 patients with osseous metastases of prostate cancer underwent 1～3 dose treatment by 153 Sm EDTMP radiotherapy. The alleviation of pain, change of focus and toxic action were evaluated.Results: 12 patients ( 30.8 %) experienced bone pain disappearance, and 22 relieved ( 56.4 %), so total efficiency amounted to ( 87.2 %). Following up for 2～6 months after 153 Sm EDTMP radiotherapy, the X ray and bone radionuclide imaging exam showed that 4 patients achieved complete focus disappearance, and 7 patients achieved partial focus disappearance, the response rate is 28.1 %. The systemic radioactive effects on patients were mild, leukocytes and plateletes were only temporally decreased and selfrecovered after 4 weeks with 153 Sm EDTMP radiotherapy.Conclusions: 153 Sm EDTMP radiotherapy is a promising radiopharmaceutical to the osseous metastases in prostate cancer with a good response rate, less adverse effects." @default.
