- W2354067369 abstract "Objective To survey the eruption time and caries degree of the first permanent molars in the 6～9 age groups children in Beijing Haidian district in order to determine the best time to prevent the teeth caries. Methods The total sample of 2880 children (1920 urban, 960 rural) of 6～9 age groups was examined. The diagnostic criteria recommended by the World Health Organization were used in this study (Oral Health Survey Basic Methods 3rd ed, 1987). Results The total caries rate was 10.35%. The caries rate of girls (12.78%) was significantly higher than that of boys (7.92%). The caries rate of urban children (8.7%) was significantly higher than that of rural childen (13.56%). The eruption degree of girls was higher than that of boys (P﹤0.01). Conclusions Compared with the survey in 1995, the eruption time of children’s first permanent molars lag. The teeth caries should be prevented early. The best time to make the pit and fissure sealant is 7～9 years old." @default.
