- W2354702937 abstract "Teaching practice is a key stage in pre-service teacher education and an important phase for teachers' professional development.Every student teacher has to go through teaching practice to explore the essence of teaching.The process involves complexity and hardship,because student teachers have to deal with the teaching environment and also seek to meet expectations from their university supervisors and supervising teachers in schools.The purpose of this paper is to examine the complex relationships among student teachers,their university supervisors,and supervising teachers and analyze the impact on how student teachers learn to teach.Research findings indicate that,in the absence of effective communication,the university supervisors and school supervising teachers play only limited roles in the practicum.Based on these findings,we suggest that the roles and functions of university supervisors and school supervising teachers should be clarified,and appropriate mechanisms should be established to ensure adequate preparation and support for the discharge of their duties." @default.
