- W2354713744 abstract "CSG method is a new technique proposed for RCC,the centre of this technique is the application of CSG(cement sand and gravel) for dam construction. CSG is a material made by adding a little amount of cement in rock-like materials such as riverbed gravel or excavation muck that can be obtained easily near dam sites, and mixing briefly and rolling with vibration rollers, which can be considered as a lean RCC.CSG dam is a symmetrical trapezoid-shaped dam,the strength of CSG is relatively not stronger compared with concrete. On the other hand, because the stress occurred in a symmetrical trapezoid-shaped dam is small, the required strength of its material can be low. Therefore,CSG can be used to construct a trapezoid-shaped dam.It is proved by practice that CSG dam has such advantages as greater safety, short construction period, low construction costs and better environment protection,so it is attracting much more attention in Europe and Japan currently. The design, construction and structural analysis for the CSG cofferdam in the upper course of Daotang dam,as the practice of CSG dam for the first time in China, are introduced here, and the characteristics of CSG method and the advantages of the method applying in temporary structures such as cofferdam and so on are clarified.Based on the results of material tests and site rolling experiments, the characteristics of CSG material and some useful technical parameters of CSG method are gotten. All these could provide experiences for the application of CSG method in China." @default.
