- W2355261544 abstract "ObjectiveThe aim of this paper focus on the distri buti on of body mass index (BMI) in Chengdu and to evaluate the impact of obesity and overweight on cardiovascular risk factors. Methods728 8 individuals aged 18～80 years (male 59 9%, female 40 1%) were included in this study.Resu ltsIn Chengdu the mean BMI is 22 44 kg/m 2 (22 86 kg/m 2 for male, 21 95 kg/m 2 for fem ale). 57 96% people have normal BMI (18 5～23 9 kg/m 2), 30 56% and 5.96% people BMI ≥24 an d BMI≥28 (overweight and obesity), respectively, which are significantly higher than those in ten years ago. BMI of both male and female increased with age. Af ter 30 years o ld (men) and 40 years old (female), BMI is near the peak. After 70 years old, BM I is slightly decreased. BMI has significantly correlated with many risk factors . Risk factors (blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride) and ca rdio_cerebrovascular events increased with BMI. ConclusionsMean BMI of Chengdu increased in last 10 years. About 1/3 subjects are overweight and obesity (BMI≥ 24 kg/m 2). Overweight or obesity people are associated with more cardiovascula r risk factors." @default.
