- W2355824871 abstract "Objective:To compare serum E-selectin level in patients with unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction and to examine its relation with the degree of coronary artery stenosis. Methods:We recruited 125 patients with acute coronary syndrome(54 patients with unstable angina and 71 patients with acute myocardial infarction)and 47 controls with normal coronary artery.Serum E-selectin level was measured at study entry using commercially available ELISA.The severity of coronary lesion was graded with Gensini score.Results:Serum E-selectin levels were significantly increased in the unstable angina and myocardial infarction groups in comparison with the control group(P＜0.001).Compared with the unstable angina group,the serum concentrations of E-selec- tin were higher in patients with acute myocardial infarction(P＜0.05).Serum E-selectin concentra- tions correlated significantly with the extent of coronary atherosclerosis in patients with acute coronary syndrome.Conclusions:This study suggests that serum E-selectin levels may be a marker for plaque destabilization and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis." @default.
